The Bridge To Nowhere

I have always liked the Blue Bridge that arches over Great Stoke Way , not so much for its aesthetics , but for the simple reason it goes nowhere whatsoever .

At one side of the bridge is a housing development and some offices , and at the other side is a field of cows, it does not even cross a particularly busy road. Lovely though the cows are, I have yet to work out why they should command a bridge of their own.

I have been told two plausible reasons for this bridge being placed here, the second is the most reasonable, but I shall list both.

1) Mad people put it there

2) Great Stoke Way was originally planned to be linked to the M32 (possibly something to do with the tram system that never was). Expecting an increase in traffic, the bridge was placed in such a way so that the residents of Bakers Ground could visit the cows without inconvenience or danger.

Well I hope you like the photo and if anyone has an further insite about the Blue Bridge please add a comment.
